Thursday, April 8

Leave campus 8 AM sharp from in front of the Claypool-Young Art Building

Arrive in Berea 10 AM
     Visit the Kentucky Artisan Center with introductory talk by Gwen Heffner
     Berea College - Tour the Berea College Student Crafts Program with introductory talk by Director Tim Glotzbach
     Visit College Square galleries (scroll down)
     Lunch
     Visit the studios of the Old Town Artisans Village (see also the shopping guide)
     Depart Berea 2 PM

Arrive Whitesburg (see also Discover Letcher County) 4:30 PM
     Check in at Super 8 Motel (377-a Hazard Road, Whitesburg, 606-633-8888)
     Dinner at Summit City (or see Summit City on myspace) or other restaurants
     Presentation by MSU grad John Haywood

Friday, April 9
     Breakfast
     Tour Appalshop with MSU grad Bruce Parsons (see also his homepage)
     Leave Whitesburg 10 AM

Arrive Asheville 1:30
     Tour Southern Highland Craft Guild's Folk Art Center
     Dinner
     Check in to Comfort Suites Biltmore Square Mall  (890 Brevard Rd., Asheville, 828-665-4000). NOTE THAT THIS IS A 100% SMOKE FREE HOTEL.

Saturday, April 10
     Tour Asheville River Arts District with talk by Maria Andrade Troya
     Lunch in River Arts District (Twelve Bones Smokehouse, Clingman Cafe, Two Cousins Kitchen, Greene's Mini Mart and others)
     Tour downtown Asheville galleries and studios
     Dinner downtown
     Return to motel

Sunday, April 11
     Return to Morehead--tentative arrival : 3 PM
